Until recently, I thought of Bulgari as the king of the serpent motif, particularly when it comes to timepieces, and specifically ladies’ timepieces. Hublot and Montblanc have proved me wrong with these two replica watches, which are surprisingly adorned, (even for Hublot). They are men’s replica watches with otherwise traditional complications along with a slithering serpent coiled on the dial, as if trapped under the crystal. This is high watchmaking at its edgiest.
Montblanc Villeret Tourbillon Bi-Cylindrique 110 Years Anniversary Fake Watch
This limited edition was made in the company’s Villeret-based manufacture, where every timepiece is hand made and finished, from hairspring to crown, each one a statement of high watchmaking. The very limited number of pieces coming out of this small workshop are generally highly traditional, so the lifelike snake on the dial of this edition is a surprise. It circulates amidst the components of the open-worked hand-wound caliber MB M65.63, which beats at a frequency of 2.5 Hertz (18,000 vph) and offers 46 hours of power reserve. It is a one-minute tourbillon, with a double cylindrical balance spring and the company’s signature Heures Mystérieuses display. Every scale of the serpent was hand-engraved to give it a life-like body.
Hublot Classic Fusion Kobe Bryant HeroVillain Replica Watch
This is Hublot’s third collaboration with basketball legend Kobe Bryant. The snake motif reflects the player’s nickname “Black Mamba,” and the title refers to Kobe’s approach to the game. “The Classic Fusion Kobe Bryant HeroVillain symbolizes my life as a HeroVillain during my 20-year basketball career, as I strive to channel my fears and doubts into strength and determination,” he explains. The 45mm case is ceramic with a snake on the open-worked dial and a strap made of black rubber and black python. There is a calendar display at 12 o’clock and a date and moon phase indicator at 6 o’clock. It is limited to 24 pieces.
